So, this was allegedly filmed over Jerusalem on January 28, 2011 at around 01 am. Real or fake?

Pretty thourough analysis of the video:

This is a stabilized version of the Temple Mount UFO video. The brightness and contrast have also been increased. This video highlights a major flaw of perspective, and proves it is fake.

Everyone should know that objects further away from the camera move more slowly than objects closer to the camera. That is called PARALLAX.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax

However, in this video, the city lights move faster than the man, wall, and tree which is closer to the camera. That is impossible. Also, the city lights move independently from the camera movement, that is not possible either. The city lights should be locked to the camera movement, and the man, wall, and tree should only be moving.

Hold your hand steady in front of your computer screen, close one eye, and move your head around... you will see the computer screen appears stationary while your hand moves around. That is how the city lights should move.

This video shows signs of being a composite.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compositing

Either a type of "green screen" or a "mask" was used to insert the city lights of Jerusalem into the scene. The man, the wall, and the tree were filmed first. Whoever made this video cut out the area around the man, above the wall, and next to the tree, and then inserted the city lights behind it.

You can get a good view of the "mask" or area that was cut out when you see the fake flash of light. When they created the fake light flash, they only increased the contrast of the city lights but not the rest of the scene (except for the edges of the man which is caused by blending the mask). You can see a good image here:

Also, light should not have reached the back right side of the man's jacket, that is impossible if the light is coming from the front. Also, if you look close at the image above you will see a dark shadow line along the right edge of the jacket too, that is impossible if the jacket is illuminated as well.

The lights are fake... there is no point source. It's just a magical increase in brightness on top of the scene.

The video of the UFO is CGI, and is a HOAX.

The same user, eligael, has now uploaded another video of a UFO over Jerusalem. Much less spectacular this one.

Hi,
This article mentions the Dome of the Rock footage:

"Columbia, SC (WLTX) - It's a question man has been asking for centuries: are we alone and could there really be life out there somewhere. For some the answer is easy. They believe NASA knows that alien life exist and that we're being visited on a regular basis.

Clifford Clift is one such believer. "Maybe the powers that be are setting us up for disclosure, making it more subtle so it won't be a big jolt to us," he says.

Clift is the International director of MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network. They have some 3,000 members and over 1,000 investigators. "MUFON gets about 500 UFO sightings a month," Clift says. "About 400 of them we can prove are something very normal. But 100 or so we get every month we can't explain and they are extremely hair raising."

One of their latest investigations has to do with video that was supposedly shot on the morning of January 28th. A mysterious light is seen descending from the sky in Jerusalem. The light is seen hovering about The Dome of the Rock. After a few seconds, there appears to be a burst of energy, and then the light zooms away.

Is this proof positive that aliens exist, or nothing more than an elaborate hoax? MUFON believes NASA knows for sure.

"They do have a significant amount of information about the UFO phenomenon and E.T.s that are still there," Clift says. "Some of the astronauts have come forward now and are indicating that they have seen things beyond explanation."

Hey Crystal,

Thanks for the link. Mainstream media did give the Jerusalem UFO some attention in the end, didn't they. Now we just need the persons behind the cameras to come forward...

Anyway, interesting quote at the end of that article:

It's Clift's belief that the final answers are coming soon with disclosure. After talking with Charles Bolden, he seems it's not a matter of if we find out, it's a matter of when. Bolden said, "I have no doubt about things that will be discovered in the next year or so that will help us rewrite text books."

Sounds intriguing :-)

The Jerusalem Post on February 7, 2011:

Close encounters of the fabricated kind

Fake YouTube videos showing lights over Dome of the Rock spark Internet debate ranging from theology, eschatology, one user’s genealogy.

The lack of higher intelligence seems more acute than ever, with at least three fabricated YouTube videos recently posted showing the same spot of light floating above the Temple Mount in Jerusalem with the unconvincing oohs and aahs of those witnessing and filming the “UFO” in the background. The videos have garnered over 2 million views by Sunday.
