Interesting footage, but the question remains — is it real or fake?

Update January 31, 2011: My fake-o-meter is going off the charts while watching the third video of the alleged UFO:

  1. If that is real, it’s the best footage I’ve ever seen.

    • Yep, same here.

This guy claims to have captured it on film as well: http://www.youtube.com/user/yuli020

I can’t help but feel that this sighting needs way more coverage outside of YouTube to be credible though.

      • I agree, if this is real then it is a stunning piece of video. With the same event captured from two separate locations lends itself to there having been “something” that was really there. I guess the truth is we can never really know if it is real, as in not created using software, or real in that there was an object that was seen and captured by camera at two separate locations, but the object is some kind of model aircraft or prop/special effect. The time when what a camera recorded could be taken as factual is long past, and other types of data are needed to supply useful information. Using diffraction gratings as suggested here

is a cheap simple way of capturing data that is more revealing about these lights and how they operate.

  2. The media is so quick to pick up on any silly thing like balloons or chinese lanterns, I can’t believe no one has covered this, so yeah I have a feeling it’s faked, sadly.

  3. the flash looks like the brightness has been turned up for a split second. if you pause it on the flash every light in the city seems to light up including the light on the back of the guy standing in front. highly suspicious.

  4. They need either better cameras or better focus we can’t really tell if this is real or fake. Maybe we shold catch some UFO’s during the day rather than night.

  5. Bit of light at night are always so suspect. Someone please show a video of something in the daytime!

  6. My fake o meter is at + one right now, if it was fake it would be at a scale of ten.
Something tells me it is so real, that many out there will say and do anything to debunk this.
    Thanks for the postings :)

  7. A poster on abovetopsecret.com claims to have identified the source image for videos 1 and 2 here:
    http://www.weizmann.ac.il/ISPC/workshop/2005/microbatch/album/2005-02-28/slides/Jerusalem%20at%20Night.html
If correct, this would suggest that all three videos have been created in much the same way.

    • Thanks for the link Bathtub. According to another post on ATS (link), that image, while similar, doesn’t seem to be a perfect match when compared to the video. It’s mainly the horizons that seem to differ.

The less than stellar video quality makes it difficult to tell though.
